1. Minimalist Baker

The Minimalist Baker is one of the biggest and most popular food blogs on the planet, and for a good reason. Dana and John, the husband and wife team behind the blog, have made every effort to inspire their audience with healthy yet simplistic meals.

Each of the recipes on the website boasts 10 ingredients or less, 30 minutes to prepare, or the use of only one bowl or pot.

Not all of their recipes are Vegan but there is more than enough inspiration due to the sheer volume of excellent and diverse recipes.

Weather cooling down? Craving a dish that is warm, comforting and filling. But, doesn’t make you feel bloated…

This minimalist take on the traditional Coconut Curry Ramen will probably end up a staple in your household all winter long.

Not only will it comfort you against the cold, but the blended taste and texture of the coconut, spice, and vegetables will also give you the immune boost to fight off sickness during the flu season. Try it and let us know!

2. Oh She Glows

Angela, the person behind OSG, has had a long and public struggle with eating disorders. Additionally, Angela’s husband, Eric, was a lover of fast food and high sugar drinks. But that is all in the past now.

The couple have learned to turn their lives around by inspiring themselves (and a growing readership of over 1 million each month) to eat delicious and healthy alternatives.

You can find an endless supply of not just incredible recipes, but tips on how to maximize happiness in your life. Angela offers advice from living and lifestyle to career. It is a must-read if you feel you are lacking in any area of your life.

Vegan Banana Bread

Again, this time of year we all crave those warming meals.

This is a perfect addition to holiday meals across this time of year. To be honest, we made our version of the Vegan Banana Bread, but have opted to eat for breakfast or lunch as it has been too heavy for after dinner.

The best part of this recipe is that it is naturally sweetened and takes around 10 minutes to prepare. It is begging to be enjoyed with your favorite coffee or tea!

3. I love Vegan

Brittany and William, the pair behind I Love Vegan, represent the majority of Vegans today. They are a young couple who, through their own findings found that the vegan lifestyle was the best suited to them.

People who have gone through the transition are better prepared to teach and inspire others as they have been through the learning curve most recent, but that’s just my opinion.

Don´t get me wrong, though, these two are Veteran Vegan Chefs, and that shows through the growing library of recipes on their website.

There is a tonne of great advice on the website for how to set yourself up with a nutritious diet, to creating a balanced shopping list. Check it out!

Vegan Potato Leek Soup

How do you fend off those winter feelings?

Soup.

Lots of soup.

The best part of this soup is the similarity it has over the creaminess of butter and creamy texture of traditional soups. This is achieved by the blend of miso and coconut cream.

We tried this soup at home and were really surprised at how the coconut cream didn’t overpower the other ingredients.

This is on the menu for us later in the week once again!

4. Cookie and Kate

Kate and her trusty sidekick Cookie are the team behind this awesome cooking blog. Together they create some of the best and easiest recipes around. Plus, the writing style is full of personality.

I am a big fan of their Instagram account too, as two of my passions are combined – pictures of Food and Dogs!

Apple Steel Cut Oatmeal

Personally, I love oatmeal and have honestly been making it since I was young. However, I had never put salt in it up until now, suggested by this recipe.

And the result was AMAZING.

I love how the apple-infused oats taste together with a mixture of seeds and nuts. If you want a little bit more flair, you could add a little Maca Powder to it.

I promise this meal makes you want to get out of bed on those cold mornings.

5. Vegan Day Dream

This website should be sent to any male that is just starting their vegan journey. The content creator behind the site is, of course, a Male, who was a devout non-vegan growing up and into his adult life.

After marrying a vegan and having kids something shifted, and more importance was placed on a healthy and balanced diet.

One of the reasons why I love this site is that there are classic bachelor favorites such as homemade fries. However, there are also some super inspirational meals such as Sweet Potato Chickpea Soup and the Sweet Potato Gnocchi.

However, the below recipe should be part of any self-respecting vegan male’s cooking routine.

Easy Vegan Stuffing Cranberries

Honestly, I don’t plan my meals out a week in advance.

I prefer to cook exactly whatever tickles my fancy in that moment.  Other stuffing recipes have the requirement for you to leave bread out to stale or dry the bread.

This recipe doesn’t require either, so you can make this on a whim!

6. Forks and Beans

On a personal level, I find it really helpful whenever someone publicly shares their struggles with their health.  Sharing that information takes a special kind of person.

Via Forks and Beans Cara shares her heart-wrenching experiences as she suffered terrible side effects from then-unknown food allergies.

Finally, after struggling through many years of weight gain and overall unhealthy behavior she sought out medical help so that she could live the life that she deserved.

Fortunately for her, she was able to identify the foods that were making her sick and she now enjoys a happy and full life.

The goal of her blog is to inform and support others who may be suffering through a similar situation. And that sure gets a thumbs up from us!

Halloween Pancakes

Want to TREAT your kids to all the sweet stuff, but don’t want to forgo health to do it?

Then TRICK them by making them these plant-based breakfast alternative.

Don’t get spooked by Halloween, cook them this and they will love it!

7. Oh Lady Cakes

I did the research and the painful truth is that there are not as many cake recipes as you would be lead to believe from the name of the website! But that’s OK, there are a few 🙂

What I love this blog for most is the awesome infusion of Vegan Food and Travel. Which is pretty cool as I have not come across too many blogs/websites that do this well.

Oat and Cashew Butter Breakfast Cookies

Yep, not a cake recipe but a Cookie recipe!

Nothing beats a top-notch cookie with a cup of coffee in the morning. However, if the cookie is full of processed ingredients, oils, etc it can make you feel pretty blah…

This recipe is full of goodness and taste. Plus, they are the sort of cookie you don’t have to eat 20 of, they are filling so you only need one or two.

8. The Vegan 8

Brandi, the amazing woman behind The Vegan 8, turned to veganism the same way many people do, to cure a family member’s health issues.

In this case, it was her husband. Suffering from gout a severely painful joint condition caused by eating certain foods.

As a result of successfully adopting a vegan diet, Brandi was able to cure her husband’s condition.

Via her blog, she catalogs her amazing recipes, such as the one below. Even more amazing is the recipes that are on the blog only require 8 ingredients or less. A big win for anyone who doesn’t have much time to spend in the kitchen.

Yet another reason to check out the blog is Brandi is some kind of superwoman. A serial entrepreneur, a wearer of many hats (a former international model), she not only runs The Vegan 8 Blog, but she also has a home renovating business with her husband, plus she is a mother!

Following on with her examples of simplicity in the kitchen let’s look at this month’s featured recipe.

Easy 1 Pot Creamy Curry Rice Soup

What is the best way to create a new recipe or a new version of a recipe?

To create something you have a craving for.

Brandi was craving the warmth and comfort of curry but didn’t feel like the unnecessary carbs of the usual bed of rice.

So, instead, the curry turned into a soup using some creative tweaks.

Super fast, limited ingredients and easy cleanup – ticks all the boxes!

9. Simple Vegan Blog

Iosune and Alberto are the faces behind this awesome blog. They are both living the dream by running two websites (their other is in Spanish) and living wherever they please.

They create thought-provoking twists on the classics, plus a few of their own creations. There is so much inspiration on their blog matched with excellent photography that you can get lost on it for hours on end.

My favorite is their Vegan Pad Thai.

Are you looking for a healthier version of store-bought bread that is still easy to make?

This recipe opts to use whole flour which is much healthier than the options used in white bread.

Definitely worth trying this recipe as not only will you feel lighter and healthier, but you will save some money by not buying boutique bread at the shops.

10. This Rawsome Vegan Life

Em, the blogger behind This Rawsome Vegan Life is a breath fresh of air. She gives an excellent validation of her veganism in a gracious and deliberate manner.

This message carries through the rest of the website. There is a lot of personality and voice used in her writing style, and you very much feel as you are talking to an old friend when reading through the recipes.

We really like this site, and am sure you will too.

Yep, it’s coming into ‘cold’ season. On average, I always seem to get one small flu and one big flu each winter.

I have a feeling that this will be my go-to Flu-Busting-Elixer that will get me through. Sometimes you just need to flush out your system with a whole lot of health. Try it and let me know what you think!

Rich Roll Podcast

I’m a Rich Roll fanboy.

He is so badass and I don’t know exactly why. He is a reforming alcoholic and lawyer, turned event winning ultra-athlete and plant-based vegan.

I follow his adventures a lot via social, but nothing beats Rich’s podcasts.

This is my fav Rich Roll podcast from October. Rich interviews Jonathan Fields.  Jonathan is a world-class blogger, award-winning author, A-List event speaker, and founder of the Good Life Project.

Jonathan’s mission is to educate people and businesses so they can create better and more conscious products, businesses and lives in less time. He basically wants people to live more engaging and connected lives with one another.

That is something I really definitely vibe with! So check it out.

That’s it for this month! Let me know in the comments if you tried one of the recipes or found value in any other part of this post.
